Good Afternoon!
I am officially done with my first semester of college! I absolutely loved the last five months at UNL and I could not be any happier with my decision to go to Nebraska! I knew that loved the University but I had no idea that this is exactly where I was meant to be. Being eight hours away from home was difficult at first but I meant so many warm, welcoming people at UNL that I began to easily adapt to my new home very quickly!
I rushed Kappa Alpha Theta and I love greek life. I am the freshmen social chair and I enjoy representing theta and helping plan socials and volunteer events for the freshmen. I was also selected to be a University Ambassador, which I am very excited about as well! As a UA I help with “Red Letter Days” and other events for next years incoming freshmen. I was very lucky this last semester and had a great class schedule with some awesome professors. My favorite class was Interpersonal Skills for Leadership where I was given the opportunity to complete a service learning project. For my service project I decided to pursue my interest in teaching and I volunteered twice a week as a reading tutor at Clinton Elementary. This was a great way to get off campus for a couple of hours each week and to work with a group of really fun fourth graders! Towards the end of the semester with the help of my professors and counselors I declared an Advertising/Public Relations Major with a double minor in Business and Leadership Communications.
Overall this semester was very busy but it is so nice to be home for the holidays. I am so thankful that I have had the opportunity to go to such a great University with the support of my family and Coloradans for Nebraska! Without your help it could none of this could have been possible. Thank you so much to CFN and all of the generous supporters and alumni!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Go Big Red!
