With Colorado Gives Day, Coloradans for Nebraska was asked how someone could give to Co4NU Scholarship Fund and receive a tax credit.
Coloradans for Nebraska (Co4NU) is a non-profit entity. But we are classified as a social club with the IRS. We fall under IRS Code 501 (c ) (7). Thus, contributions or donations to Co4NU are not tax deductible.
As Coloradans for Nebraska has a scholarship fund through the University of Nebraska Foundation for the Legends Scholarships, given to incoming Freshman that are from Colorado, you can donate to that fund as it is under IRS Code 501 (c) (3) to receive a tax deduction.
